BNS Fab 2010 King of the Hammers
Johnson Valley, CA
BNS Fabrication 1st year at King of the Hammers. What a race. Arriving at Johnson Valley on Sat a week before the race, we spent most of our time trying to get the engine to run correctly and getting our suspension tuned to go fast in the desert.
Our most important goal was to qualify for the race. We had to finish in the top 25 of 42 people in the Last Chance Qualifier. Wens was our race day. It decided to rain all night before the race and we had only pre run the coarse twice due to our engine issues, so the odds were against us. Running a 22 min coarse time we place 14th! BNS Fab was in the big race!
Fri, race day. We were off and running. Within the 1st 5 miles we had hit a huge jump and hit pretty hard, breaking our radiator fan. Taking the tranny cooler fan off to use as a radiator fan we limped our 1st 60 miles of the race until we got back to the main pit where we had a new fan waiting for us. After we got the new fan we were off and running, passing people left and right.
More or our epic journey to come soon!
